Taeyang, born as Dong Young- bae on 18th May, 1988 in Uijeongbu city, Gyeonggi- do, South Korea is a renowned South Korean singer, songwriter, recording artist, lyricist, dancer, actor & model. He has a usual height of 5 feet 6 inches in a mannish build body weighing more or less 58 kg.

The smaller among the 2 sons of his parents, Taeyang was raised along with his elder brother named Dong Hyeon- Bae, who is 5 years senior to him. When he was a 4th grade student, his family was approached by IMF (International Money Funds). His father’s business, which was running decently, became bankrupt & Taeyang had to live separately from his mom-dad in a relative’s house. He passed maximum of his upbringing sitting alone & listening music. After achieving a high school graduation degree, he along with his close mate G- Dragon made a decision to take a single year break prior to the University admission. Though he previously wanted to drop out his high school study but soon expressed his wish for being a graduate. Afterwards, he was accepted by the Daejin University, where he started attending the film & theater classes in the year 2008.

Taeyang made his acting debut as a minor child actor at age 11 in the movie by Yun-su Jeon, “Besam Mucho”. A year later he along with his friend G- Dragon auditioned for the YG Entertainment & ultimately signed with the company. Subsequently, he was featured in several YG releases as he keep preparing to debut. Though, it was publicized in 2004 that Taeyang & G- Dragon will soon debut as a duet, it wasn’t until the year 2006 once he eventually debuted as a member of “BIGBANG”, a musical group together with further 4 trainees, Daesung, T.O.P., Hyun Seung & Seungri. He was the foremost member of the BIGBANG to release a solo debut. Taeyang aired “HOT” in 2008 as his very first mini collection & the next year he launched his initial 2 digital singles, “Wedding Dress” & “Where U At”, both were later included in his first full collection. Behind his collaboration with Aoyama Thelma, a Japanese R&B singer for “Fall in Love”, this charming artist freed his first full collection entitled “SOLAR” & the second album was released in the year 2014 with the title “RISE”. In addition to his albums, Taeyang has also performed numbers of live gigs & has toured along with different renowned music artists. Furthermore, he has as well appeared in various music videos including “High High” (2010) by GD & TOP, “One of a Kind” (2012) by G-Dragon, “The Baddest Female” (2013) by CL, & “Tomorrow” (2011) by Tablo.

A young rising artist with a multiple skills such as rapping, singing & dancing, Taeyang also loves beat boxing plus gardening & can speak different languages including Chinese, English & Japanese. Rising in fame since such an early age, Taeyang, for his astonishing music input has earned various prestigious awards such as 6th Korean Music Awards (2008), 12th Mnet Asian Music Awards (2010), 8th Korean Music Awards, Soompi Awards (2013), among others.
