Wardell Stephen Curry, Jr., who is the eldest son of his parents, was born & partially raised in Akron, Ohio, United States. He has a smaller sister named Sydel, who plays volleyball for the Elon University, whereas his junior brother, Seth Curry, also played basketball for the Duke University & most lately played for the NBA D- League’s Santa Cruz Warriors. Stephen’s father, Dell Curry also previously played several NBA seasons, while his mother was just engaged in her daily household activities. During his early days, Stephen went to the Charlotte Christian School, in Charlotte, North Carolina & later studied at the Davidson College, Davidson, North Carolina, from 2006 to 2009. He attended the Davidson because he didn’t receive any offers for college basketball from a main conference school reasoning his size. On 30th July, 2011, Stephen walk down the aisle with Ayesha Alexander, whom he had met at the age of 15 in a local church youth assembly, at the time Ayesha was only 14. The couple was blessed with their first child, a baby girl named Riley, who was born on 19th July, 2012.

Starting his basketball career since his early high school days, Stephen Curry was named all- conference, team MVP (Most Valuable Player) & all- state, as he led his school team to 3 different conferences titles & 3 state playoff performances. Despite his high school success, the then 6 feet (1.8 m) & (160 pound) 73 kg senior didn’t get any offers of scholarship from single major conference schools. Although he wanted to take part in the Virginia Tech Hokies, but was only offered the position of walk- on player by the Davidson, Winthrop & VCU. Therefore, he ultimately picked Davidson & started playing for the college basketball squad, Davidson Wildcats men’s basketball. He was twice titled as the Player of the Year in the South Conference & made the record of all- time scoring for both the Davidson & the Southern Conference. Furthermore, this young player also made records of school career for the free throws, 40- points’ games, three- point field goals, 30- points games & made a single season ‘National Collegiate Athletic Association’ (NCCA) record for 3- pointers made. During the NBA Draft 2009, the Golden State Warrior selected Stephen with the first round’s 7th pick. Throughout the 2012- 2013 NBA season, this young star set the new (NBA) National Basketball Association record for 3- pointers made inside a regular season by 273 made 3- pointers.
