She was born & initially raised in Montpelier, an unincorporated community situated in Hanover County, Virginia, United States. Her retired father formally worked as a landscaper & a wastewater treatment employee & her real estate agent mother also serves as a teacher at Hanover County. Mickie James first entered the wrestling field professionally as a manager (valet) on the indy circuit, where the sexy lady was famed under the moniker ‘Alexis Laree’. Initially she earned training in numbers of camps so as to perk up her wrestling skills ahead of working for the Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling around 2002 June, gaining a national attention.
