New York City, New York, United born Jon Stewart’s birth name is said to be Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz, a younger son of Marian (nee Laskin) & her husband Donald Leibowitz (died on 8th June, 2013). Previously, his father was a physics professor at Thomas Edison State College & The College of New Jersey whereas his mother too was a teacher & an educational consultant. When Jon was only 11, his parents got separated following the divorce finalization. He was apparently largely alienated from his own father & was then raised in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, along with his elder brother, named Lawrence Leibowitz. There, he & his big brother got enrolled to the Lawrence High School. His brother is now working as the Chief Operating Officer at the NYSE Euronext (New York Stock Exchange’s parent company). Later, Jon attended The College of William & Mary, located at Virginia & completed his graduation degree from there in the year 1984, majoring in psychology after switching from chemistry. In the year 2000, Jon tied knot with Tracey Lyn McShane, following his 4 years long affair. In July, 2004, the couple welcomed their first kid, a baby son, Nathan Thomas Stewart. Their second baby was a daughter, who was born in the February of 2006 & was later named as Maggie Rose Stewart.

Jon Stewart’s career started soon after his college days. Initially, he got himself engaged in varieties of jobs, including the City University of New York’s contract administrator, the disable children’s puppeteer, a busboy, a carter, Gloucester High School’s soccer coach, Franklin Corner Tavern’s bartender & some more.
