A highly celebrated name in the world of post punk & power pop, Adam Ant, 60 is a proficient British musician who earned esteem as the key singer of “Adam and the Ants”. The only child of Betty Kathleen Smith & Leslie Goddard, Adam Ant was born as Stuart Leslie Goddard on 3rd November, 1954. He grew up in a 2 room home located in St John’s Wood’s De-Walden buildings; nevertheless his birth was in a well off inner city locality of Marylebone, in London, England. His father was a chauffeur & too worked for the Royal Air Force while his mother worked as the Norman Hartnell’s embroiderer. At the early age of 7, Adam faced his parents’ divorce, behind which he was supported by his mother holding the job of domestic cleaner, temporarily working for the renowned Paul McCartney. Primarily, he went to the Robinsfield Infants School & later studied at the Barrow Hill Junior School. He also attended the all boys’ school, St Marylebone Grammar School, in the City of Westminster, London. Following his 3 A levels & 6 O levels in History, English & Art, Adam as well studied briefly at the St Josephs RC Secondary school, Workington, Columbia, prior to his enrollment to the Hornsey College of Art. At the age of 22, the artist got married for the first time with Carol A Mills & finally divorced behind 7 years of togetherness in 1982. Later on 27th June, 1997, he tied knot with Lorraine Gibson, with whom he even shares a daughter named Lily Goddard (b. 10th April, 1998). Though, the couple has already split up, their divorce is yet to be finalized in the court.

The very first music band Adam joined was the popular “Bazooka Joe and the Lillets”, in which the rising artist appeared as a bass guitarist. After performing several gigs with the band, Adam later formed his own group “B- Sides”, which of course did rehearse but never performed gigs. Later, he changed his name to Adam Ant & formed an innovative band “Adam and Ants” along with his close mates Andy Warren, Lester Square, & Paul Flanagan. Their debut collection was released in the year 1979, as “Dirk Wears White Sox” under the Do It Records, & subsequently occupied themselves travelling to different places & throwing numbers of hit gigs. The band split in the year 1982, with its last collection “Prince Charming”. At age 28, he made his solo debut with “Friend or Foe” (1982) which was then traced out by numbers of his hit albums, counting his most recent & 7th studio collection “Bravest of the Brave”, liberated in advance to his 60th birthday, on 3rd November, 2014.

In addition to his passion for punk music, Adam as well carries interest in acting, concerning which he has even made his appearances in quite a large array of television programs & movies. He has also performed in different of the theatrical productions. Distinctive for the stripe across his face, the punk star is also celebrated for being the foremost ever “guest VJ” on MTV. Furthermore, Adam doesn’t own a single television & in fact enjoys reading, mostly the novels related to historical events. He is too an avid tattoo lover.
