Born as Martin John Christopher Freeman in Aldershot, Hampshire, England, Martin Freeman is the smallest of 5 children born to his parents, Geoffrey Freeman & Philomena (nee Norris). His father was a naval officer, who was separated when Martin was a little kid. Martin was just in his 10, when his father passed away due to heart attack. Martin was primarily admitted to the Salesian School in Chertsey, Surrey, prior to his days at the Brooklands College, where he attended the classes of media studies. Roman Catholic raised Martin as a kid was an asthmatic & had to experience a major hip operation on behalf of which he has explained as a “dodgy leg”. He has a sister & 3 elder brothers. At present, Martin resided together with his long time girlfriend, Amanda Abbington, who is as well a renowned actress. The 2 first met in the year 2000 during the shooting of ‘Men Only’, a Channel 4 production. Together the couple has 2 children, Grace (b. 2008) & Joe (b. 2006). Martin with his lady love has acted together in few other productions, including The Debt, Sherlock, The Robinsons, Swinging with the Finkels & The All Together.

Martin Freeman has worked in at least 14 theatrical productions, 18 television shows & numerous radio productions. He pierced into the acting line at the age of 15, working initially at the youth theatre, but it wasn’t until 17 that he decided to pursue acting as a final career. He then joined the Central School of Speech & Drama. He is mostly noted for portraying Tim Cantebury in a UK television sitcom ‘The Office’. He as well has worked in the television sitcom ‘Hardware’. Martin too appeared in various movies, including Love Actually (20013), Ali G Indahouse (2002), Nativity (2009), The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (2005) & the Blood & Ice Cream trilogy, most significantly in the 2013’s The World’s End. Matt is possibly best identified for his roles as Tim Cantebury, Dr. John Watson, Bilbo Baggins & Lester Nygaaard in the UK television series ‘The Office’, ‘Sherlock’ & ‘The Hobbit’ film trilogy & Fargo, respectively.

Vegetarian British actor Martin Freeman has resisted with religion, explaining that his relationship together with his faith has not at all been that easy. Despite these efforts, he has stated that his faith on Catholic remains intact. Martin even participated in a cricket match which was held for the charity reason, i.e. to raise funds for the victims of 2011 Christchurch earthquake.
